Contents

GIS Concepts: Introductory course where we will describe the main functionalities onto a GIS system. (GIS systems, projections, map design, etc)

Data acquisition: On this module we'll analyze the available data sources for ecology.

Descriptive techniques: This module linked with the previous, will describe the use of these variables to describe the environment.

Spatial analysis: In this module we'll analyze the main geographic analysis techniques, as geographic distances, interpolations, etc.

Geo-Statistics: This module will study the basic statistics methods that describes the geographic relationships between the variables of study.

Remote sensing: In this module the student will take a quick vision of the possibilities of using remote sensing data in ecology.

Software used: GvSIG, IDRISI
