Research

The Rui Nabeiro Biodiversity Chair aims to promote of cutting-edge research in the fields of biodiversity and global change. These aims will be achieved by 1) direct sponsorship of research undertaken at the University of Évora; 2) integration of research undertaken at the University of Évora in national networks of excellence; and 3) promotion of research partnerships with international networks of excellence.

As a first step towards meeting these goals, the Chair promoted the creation of a section of the CIBIO in Évora. The CIBIO is the Portuguese centre of excellence in biodiversity research and, currently, is jointly hosted by the Universities of Porto, Azores, and Évora.
