Noémi Marujo is Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, School of Social Sciences, University of Évora. She holds a PhD in Tourism from the University of Évora, a Master’s degree in Sociology from the same university, and an Advanced Studies Diploma in Tourism, Leisure and Culture (Branch Tourism and Development) from the University of Coimbra, apart from a Bachelor degree in Communication Sciences from the University of Beira Interior.
She is a researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for History, Cultures and Societies (CIDEHUS) and member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Tourism and Hospitality International Journal, member of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal TURyDES (Turismo y Desarrollo Local), and member of the Scientific Council of the Revista Turismo: Estudos e Práticas.
She is also director of the Bachelor study in Tourism at the University of Évora and member of the Executive Committee and the monitoring group for the Master in Tourism and Development of Destinations and Products at the University of Évora.
She authored a series of national and international articles in the field of tourism. Her research interests lie in the connection between tourism and both tangible and intangible heritage, as well as in the development and the image of tourist destinations from the perspective of supply and demand.
