The Chair and the UNESCO

The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme offers higher education and research institutions a platform for peaceful and constructive dialogue as well as valuable opportunities for sharing knowledge and exchanging experiences at the global level.

Since the UNESCO is actively involved in the implementation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations in September 2015, UNESCO Chairs are challenged to make their contributions to this ambitious agenda. The UNESCO Chair in Intangible Heritage and Traditional Know-How: Linking Heritage, through its collaborative research and outreach programmes, is strongly committed to this collective effort.
